The teen was walking down Prospect Avenue about 7:35 p.m. Wednesday when he was approached by a man brandishing a knife, Brockton Police Lt. Kenneth LeGrice said.
The victim was robbed of his Nike Air Foamposite sneakers and his cell phone. The sneakers cost between $100 to $200, according to Footlocker.com.
Can Brockton possibly get any more ghetto?!?! Two weeks ago there were seven shootings in seven days. Last week, a water main break left city residents unable to shower or bathe for several days. And now, for the FOURTH time in recent months, a teen was robbed of his sneakers. His SNEAKERS!!!
How much lower can the city of champions go?! Are teens going to have to walk around the city barefoot all summer in fear of getting robbed? Last September, a teen arranged to sell his shoes to a Brockton resident via Facebook messaging, and when he arrived to make a seemingly innocent transaction, he was jumped, beaten, and robbed at knife-point by seven future doctors.
Oh Brockton, you have done it again. Please don’t let a casino “ruin” your lovely town.
