We wanted to let people know that there is a public vigil tonight at Lemanski Park, 400 Oxford Street North Auburn, tonight at 7:30 PM for slain police officer Ron Tarentino. Even if you did not know him it’s a great way to show your support for his family and police in general. There are also a few GoFundMe’s we have seen circulating, and although they all seem to check out we are only going to share this fundraiser promoted by the Auburn Police Department:

Also, this might be the most powerful and emotional picture ever taken. Whoever took it should win a Pulitzer Prize:

It speaks a million words. An Auburn Police Officer hugging crying his son, as many other families of LE have done with their loved ones who put on a uniform and a badge every day. This picture humanizes the police by reminding us that they have families to go home to when the job is done every day. We see stories of police officers getting shot and killed, but it’s always hundreds of miles away. Now it’s in Auburn.

Comedian Artie Lange has offered to do a free show, and it appears as if his offer has been accepted:

Also wanna give a shoutout to every business in the community that has done their part to support this community. Mike’s Donuts in Leicester has had a sandwich named after him (which I wouldn’t recommend if you’re dieting) for a while, and they are collecting money there as well.

Jasmine’s in Auburn shut down at 10 PM on Monday and law enforcement from all over gathered until 2 AM. The owner paid the full tab. It’s stories like this that restore your faith in humanity.

Speaking of humanity, we thank the people who have messaged us with positive stories about Officer Tarentino, and we encourage others to do so. We would like to write something to memorialize his life and celebrate the good things he did in order to try to balance out all of the terrible stories that seem to come out by the day. The best way to commemorate someone’s death is to celebrate their life. Feel free to message us on Facebook or email us at turtleboysports@gmail.com if you would like to share one particular story about an experience or interaction you had with Ron Tarentino. Don’t be bashful, we won’t use your name. But I know if something like this happened to someone I love, I would want to read about all of the people whose lives were touched by this man.

The thing that came to my mind as I scrolled down was Carly Simon singing “nobody does it better”. I think I’m going to cry.

The photo of the officer and the boy was taken by Worcester Magazine photographer Steven King. Amazing image.

Theres many who are heartless- like the turds friends DEFENDING HIM and talking crap about the cops- saying it was a racial profiling case blah blah blah. I would post to each of these asshats personally, but facebook only lets you privately message them. They are watching the posts on here- they have cut and pasted and then made their “argument” against what was said in regards to the turd /aka worm food. I dont care if he had family or friends- and clearly he didnt either. He didnt care about his DOG- that he put in harms way. He had NO respect for life- period. His own or otherwise. He is right where he shouldve been a long time ago. I am having a hard time swallowing that this happened in my town and people who are anticop feeling sorry for the guy who made the first picture have to happen- this shouldnt have happened. Hes trash and if you condone his kind of scumbaggery- you deserve every bit of misery life throws your way. Angry- doesnt even begin to cover how I feel- towards him, his defenders, the freaken laws that allowed him to walk down the street.

I agree with you and I have messaged a number of people defending this POS, including his gf- who has since changed her name on FB. Guess she didnt like it when I told her that her bf is a load his mother shouldve swallowed and the best part of him was left in the wet spot on the bed. Yep, those comments are crass and rude but I felt necessary because the amount of hatred I have for that person and anyone defending him, theres no words- it hasnt been invented yet. They dont deserve any niceties- those are reserved for people who deserve them.

All I can think of is my own little guy – hoping he never has to feel that kind of pain.

And please pass the tissues this way

Glad I’m not the only grown man crying right now.
