Facebook Took Down Our “Happy New Years” Profile Picture For Pornography On A Page That No Longer Existed And All Of Our Pages Are Suspended Now, Here’s How To Follow Us

The other day the Turtleboy Refugees page was republished and then unpublished for no reason in a 12 hour period. As far as readers like you were concerned the page no longer exists. Even the haters could not see the page, and thus could not mass report it like they always do. And yet this happened today:
Yup. The already unpublished page had its profile picture removed because “Happy New Years 2018” violated Facebook’s “community standards.” If you’re keeping track at home this is three straight holidays we have celebrated in our profile pics that have led to our pages getting unpublished:
My question is, will we get in trouble for celebrating Martin Luther King Day?
Normally the personal account that was used to upload the photo gets put in Facebook jail and the other admins can continue posting using the pages they control. But this time every single one of our admins got anywhere from a 7 to 30 day suspension, even though none of them posted the picture. Thus the rapidly growing Turtleboy Sports Alpha Backup page and the Turtleboy Sports Black Lives Matter pages (which have picked up almost 10,000 followers in just 4 days) do not have any admins who can respond to messages or posts. And you will not see anything updated on any of those pages.
We thank those of you who donated to the Turtle fund. We are putting all donations in a separate account for legal fees for fighting Facebook. Every day we call lawyers from all over the country and pitch our case to them. Many of them have been receptive, but it takes some time to find the right fit. They have to research it and decide if it’s the kind of case they want to take on. But we will get it back, make no doubt about it. And people like this will have a special blog dedicated just to them:
God I hate these people. They claim to have all the answers, yet they offer none of them. They just like to hear themselves talk because it makes them feel smart.
Hey moron – what would a “social media consultant” say about this?
Would they recommend not posting pictures of Christmas trees? Do Facebook algorithms not allow Christmas trees? Because Facebook claims human beings review these things, not algos. The answer of course is that it doesn’t matter what we post. As long as it’s on our page Kevin Lynch and Didi Delgado will mass report it for pornography. And if they do it enough it will get take down. Because no one works at Facebook to monitor this fuckery.
Oh, and check this out. Turtle riders who attempt to share our new Facebook pages are getting reported and taken down for nudity and sexual activity:
Turtle riders who merely comment on our page are also getting mass reported by Lynch and Didi, and losing their personal accounts:
And diehard turtle riders who would NEVER report our page, are getting messages from Facebook claiming that they reported our pages for promoting graphic violence:
I have no idea what is going on here, but Facebook’s whole reporting system is one gigantic clusterfuck. It’s ruining their great product. This is what they get for encouraging grown adults to report one another instead of telling them that they can fuck right off if they see something on Facebook that upsets them.
So what now? We could create new personal accounts and group pages, but they’d get taken down in five minutes. At this point we’re just abandoning Facebook until this is figured out. No point.
Instead we encourage you to like and follow this page called We Support Turtleboy. It was created by a Turtle Rider who we have zero association with. If Facebook is somehow tracking our IP’s and blacklisting them, then this page should be safer. Time will tell. They basically just post every blog we publish. The only difference is that if you message them we won’t see it, and Desk Girl won’t be able to respond to the butthurts.
(Can the admin for that page please email us at [email protected] so we can talk? We can’t message you on Facebook for obvious reasons)
We will be using Instagram and Twitter more in the next week or so until we get our first admin account to access the two remaining pages we have.
If you don’t follow us already then follow us now. If you don’t have a Twitter or IG then create one. Facebook is a defective product that cannot be trusted. Start using their competitors and they might get the message.
You can also sign up to receive an email every time we publish a blog:
Or you could just go directly to our site for hot takes. They can take down our Facebook pages but they can’t stop us from blogging.
We can still read messages on our two remaining pages so feel free to continue to message them. Just understand that we are not ignoring you. We literally can’t write back, but we’ll read them all.
Better yet, if you have a story idea please email it to [email protected] That’s actually way easier.
Thank you for continuing to support the turtle. Without you none of this is possible. We love you all.
