WBZThree Andover High School boys’ hockey coaches, including varsity head coach Chris Kuchar, have been placed on leave as their coaching methods are investigated. Andover High School Principal Philip Conrad says he received information that “certain coaching methodologies may have been used for the hockey program which, if true, are not in the best interests of our student athletes.”

Sources tell WBZ-TV the allegations stem from a loss against Pope Francis High School in Springfield last week and the long bus ride home. Apparently, someone went directly to the state Department of Children and Families, saying the coaches denied the players water and food after the loss and on the bus ride.

Off camera, the families of at least four varsity hockey players told WBZ the allegations simply weren’t true, saying many players brought food on the bus and the coaches had taken the kids to Panera Bread shortly before the game.

The coaches were immediately placed on leave pending the outcome of the DCF investigation. “The safety and well-being of our students is our most important priority, and I am disheartened to hear of the allegations against members of our coaching staff,” Principal Conrad said.

You’ve gotta be kidding me. They went to a game in Springfield, lost, and then someone called DCF because they didn’t stop for fribbles on the bus ride home. We. Are. Doomed.

This is not some hard ass coaching technique. He’s not Bear Bryant starving his players and denying them water to watch them suffer. According to other sources the coach wouldn’t let them drink water during a 90 minute practice. If this is true it’s counterproductive and not an efficient way to coach. But it’s not a fireable offense. You pull the coach aside and tell him to find more creative ways to discipline his team. He seems like a perfectly reasonable person:

But not stopping on the way home to get food after they already had Panera Bread? What planet am I on where this is required? I played sports all throughout high school and can count on my hand the number of times we stopped at McDonalds. First of all, that’s cruel and unusual punishment for the minimum wage workers when you do that. How’d you like to be working at Wendy’s, waiting for your shift to end when all of a sudden a bus full of high school boys pulls up? I’d rather be the mop up guy at the Paris Cinema.

Secondly, pack a sandwich. A bunch of anonymous parents told WBZ they did just that. It’s not like the coaches banned them from eating food completely. They just didn’t stop at McDonald’s. Because they lost and everyone knows McDonald’s is for winners.

But God forbid Johnny from Andover wait an hour and a half until he’s home to eat a tuna fish sandwich. This is the most first world thing I’ve ever seen. Seriously, you think Trump makes us look bad on the international stage? Put this on the news in Malawi and it could be a sitcom show. Rich white kids go 90 minutes with no food!! The horror!

And as soon as I saw this story I knew one thing – the coach probably has a winning record. Because whenever this happens it’s ALWAYS a successful coach being brought down by loser parents of loser kids. It happened with the Lincoln-Sudbury baseball coach, the Worcester Tech baseball coach, the Marshfield football coach, the Braintree girl’s basketball coach, the Gardner swimming coach and many, many more. This is what suburban parents who think their kid is the greatest thing since sliced white bread do – blame coaches for their children’s failures.

And wouldn’t you know it, Andover HS is one of the Top 20 ranked teams in the state:

Their two losses are to the #1 and #2 teams in the state.

Coach Kuchar came to Andover in 2014 after rebuilding Amesbury’s hockey team from the ashes.

Andover has a new AD named Bill Martin who likely had nothing to do with this decision because, 1) he’s new to town, and 2) AD’s are basically puppets for principals. Principals hire AD’s. Ultimately all judgement calls go through them, and since the last thing they wanna do is deal with angry entitled Andover hockey parents they just give them whatever they want. In this case it’s the coach’s head.

And according to this link announcing Martin’s hireAndover parents are a notoriously intense:

“Although most athletic administrators routinely deal with concerned parents, Andover is unique for the high expectations placed on its teams by those inside and outside of town. Previous athletic director Doucette, who recently retired after five years at Andover and 40 years in athletics overall, said there is a great deal of pressure in Andover to succeed.”

So the parents put all this pressure on the coaches to succeed, but then when they don’t succeed they still except the kids to be taken out for Happy Meals. Makes sense.

Hey, here’s an idea – instead of running to DCF, why didn’t these concerned parents just TALK TO THE COACH???!!! Remember talking? One person would have a concern about something another person was doing and they’d have a dialogue in which both parties expressed why they feel the way they do? Good times. But nope, that was just way too adult to do. Instead they ran to DCF like the coach is the Fall River Guttermuppet.

Anyway, this paragraph gave me hope:

Off camera, the families of at least four varsity hockey players told WBZ the allegations simply weren’t true, saying many players brought food on the bus and the coaches had taken the kids to Panera Bread shortly before the game.

This tells me that it’s probably just the gutless administrator giving into one or two parents who are a gigantic pains the ass, because it’s easier than telling them to stay in their lane. Andover is a wealthy town, and hockey is an expensive sport. The principal is likely scared shitless of these people.

Anyway, we’d love to hear from these four sets of parents, or any other parents familiar with more details in this story. Because I’m sure there’s a lot more than what the MSM is telling us. Parents like this are a disease and they should be exposed on Turtleboy as a deterrent so people think twice before doing this again.

Have you ever met a Malawian from Andover? Now that would make this first world story even more ironic. Mutu wazungalira!

DCF has to investigate 51As, particularly if the Supt files one, which may have happened here.
Panera Bread is likely “healthier” food than McDonald’s — that likely was part of the coach’s decision.

My guess is they had food, just not what the little darlings wanted to eat.

Now as to prosecuting those who fabricate 51As, that needs doing.

I heard this story from an FB friend. My first reaction was disbelief. After reading this, it makes me wonder what the complaining parents’ issues are.

My father’s family is from Andover. He mentioned only once that living in Andover was that much fun. His parents emigrated from Ireland in 1885. They left Andover in the 1920s.

But, they didn’t have a varsity Hockey program back then.

I can’t wait to hear how this plays out.

Allow me to digress, pls. Spring of 1969, Junior class of ’70, Pittsfield High field trip to the financial district in Boston. 2 1/2 hrs on a bus. No stopping at the Ho Jo’s, to OR from!
Old Sturbridge Village? Nope……..hows about that God awful trip to Stratford, CT to see Shakespeare. Not even a puke stop on the way home. EVERYONE on wretching after that one!
Nobody bitched; no pissing and moaning from parents. Life went on.
So the kids are complaining about a 1 hr and 45 minute drive from Springfield to Andovah without a Happy Meal and the Coach is suspended?
“The children are our future!” someone said; I say “God help us, each & everyone!”

    It’s not
Just that he’s a hard ass.. he’s just a creep

Ask the Amesbury Whittier parents the real reason why he resigned.. or rather was told he was told to resign over there…

Accused of having a temper stemming for a coke problem. Oooopsie!

Fired from coaching or about to be fired in every place he’s been… pro youth hockey school. Haverhill High, Amesbury .. tells you something isn’t right..

Phones either. Would t that be neglect by the parents? I thought phones would be required kids of all ages

Not allowing a kid to drink during a 90 minute practice is not only firable , it could be fatal.

That’s good to know in case I ever run into a situation where it is applicable. However since news reports are saying the team was deprived food for 12 hours during a 9-hour trip I’m going to have to not believe anything I hear at this point.

And stupid — dehydration can be cumulative, reducing future performance.

Nothing surprises me over in Ahhhhhndovah. These people’s shit don’t stink. Just ask them they will tell you. They will also tell you how to run your life too cause theirs is sooo much better. I knew more drug addicts from the Andover’s than I did from Lawrence and methuen. But that’s ok because the drugs are good drugs. The prescription type you know. Feel bad for these coaches but hey, they knew what they were getting into. Who doesn’t ?

The deal if you’re a kid in Andover is to look down your nose at the dregs from Larry, etc., as you buy copious amounts of drugs from them and then drive away in the Bimmer that your parents bought you the day you got your license. AHS was (and probably still is) an Arab bazaar for drugs.

In can only comment on one of the coaches mentioned . Gardner high swim coach Don Lemieux cheated —- and he cheated for years and years and years.
As a coach, he was exceptional. But he should have been a club coach.
As a high school coach he cheated to win, I believe, 13 straight state titles.
He violated practice rules regularly. He openly recruited top swimmers from other towns .
I know for a fact he “discouraged” his girls from dating or having any type of social life outside of swimming.
Many of his swimmers feared him.
So when it comes to Don Lemieux, swim coach for Gardner High, his firing was 100 percent warranted .

Gardner has a swim team? Is their task to avoid the cigarette butts, used condoms, and the occasional dead raccoon- all floating in their Gardner water?

Besides, given how many wannabe gangsters live in the G, I’m surprised they’re not claiming that they can’t swim, just like their idols.

What a bunch of little pussy babies. When I played sports growing up I can’t remember ever going to McDonald’s or anywhere else after my games/meets, we brought water and orange slices etc. The future of our country is doomed if these pussies are our future. It is Andover however, and we all know that people from Andover have rose scented shit.

Apparently the team parent meeting on Nov 20th, 2017 was an exercise in fudg-tility. Few wives cheek gurgling the coaches must have set the tone. When ol’ Coachin doesn’t bust a lug nut, we have to expect is will cost Jr on skates a few calories. Schoen and Hemp moms are freaking hot, both have boob auggies, and power tool level suction when those lips are placed together. My lord, I would even admit to seeding one of these spoiled tards just to taste those samples. Checkout Boettcher old lady though, town’s worst secret, daddy dabbles in the Minx with a dinx. lol. Effin’ A…I remember the practice after a notorious bash the night before, when the whole team got bamboozled, emphasis on the booze. The pucks never came out, we did Dougies the entire time, and there were no such things as water breaks, because needing to be “well hydrated” in those days was for pussies. And the parents were happy for it!

Kids these days…especially faggoty rich kids from Andover with litigious parents…
