So this Turtleboy was looking forward to President Obama’s speech today at the memorial for the five Dallas police officers who were assassinated by a black lives matter terrorist. Since Obama does not have to worry about reelection I figured this would be a great opportunity to show everyone that he is not a divisive ideologue, and can bring Americans together in the face of a horrific tragedy. Not everyone liked President Bush, but his popularity was never higher than it was on September 12, 2001, because the way he spoke to the American public made you feel like we were a united front.

But instead of doing that Obama treated this memorial like a black lives matter informercial. It was one of the most disgusting displays of arrogance I’ve ever seen. The speech, which you can read in it’s entirety here, started off very well. He praised the Dallas Police department, the bad ass police chief, and mentioned each cop by name. It was very thoughtful.

Unfortunately he then decided to treat this memorial like it was the State of the Union, pleasing some members of the audience who stood and clapped, while others sat silently in their seats, too afraid to boo the commander in chief. At several points during the rally the things he was saying were so divisive that you could see the cops in back of him refusing to clap, while the mostly African-American choral singers nodded their heads and clapped.

When they panned the audience and you saw the family members of the five dead officers, none of them were clapping. Keep in mind that this memorial was for THEM. Literally nothing else mattered besides providing them with comfort. Watching those cops sit there, stone faced and visibly in pain from losing their friends, while the political ideologues around them clap, is just so terrible. There are no words.

Here’s some of the most disgusting things that were uttered:

I see people who mourn for the five officers we lost, but also weep for the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

This memorial was for the five dead police officers. They are referred to as the “five officers” but the career criminal and Philando Castille are mentioned by name. In fairness he did mention each of the dead cops by name. Once. But Philado Castille and Alton Sterling were mentioned three times each. This memorial wasn’t about dead cops to Obama, it was about black lives matter. 

“if you’re black, you’re more likely to be pulled over or searched or arrested; more likely to get longer sentences; more likely to get the death penalty for the same crime.”

Why the hell would ANYONE think it’s at all appropriate to bring this up at a memorial for five people who were killed by a man who was motivated by false narratives that Obama just mentioned?

“When mothers and fathers raised their kids right, and have the talk about how to respond if stopped by a police officer — yes, sir; no, sir — but still fear that something terrible may happen when their child walks out the door; “

Oh good, he used this memorial to perpetuate the “racist white cops are the bogeyman that young black children should fear” routine. That’s nice. Keep in mind this was a memorial for cops killed by a rabid anti-white racist, who were protecting black people who were protesting THEM, and he used it as a way to lecture white people about their own internal racism. 

“we cannot simply turn away and dismiss those in peaceful protest as troublemakers or paranoid.”

Peaceful?? They killed five cops!! Black lives matter doesn’t just get to disassociate themselves with someone because he lost his mind. There was nothing peaceful about this protest, or the one where a police officer’s back was fractured after getting hit with cement, or the highway blockades that kept ambulances from getting to hospitals. These are acts of terror and anarchy. We absolutely can dismiss them as paranoid troublemakers, because they are the same people who were pitching tents on Wall Street in 2011. This is what they do. 

More importantly, why even bring it up? How is this at all relevant to five dead human beings whose grieving families are right in front of the President? This memorial wasn’t about the protesters, it was about the five heroes who gave their lives to protect people who hate them.

Then of course there was this:

“We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book.”

Wait…..what??? Obviously this is not true and was meant to be hyperbole. But since when is it at all appropriate for this somber event to make up a lie like this? Obviously kids can go to any library or school and get their hands on a book. They all have computers in the palm of their hands, and their schools all have them readily accessible as well. Meanwhile I live in a city where it takes an act of God to get a gun permit.  

Think about how stupid this is. Imagine books were harder for kids to get their hands on than guns. It’s like he’s living in Fahrenheit 451. Sorry kids, but your state doesn’t allow you to conceal carry Dickens or Hemingway. And even if it did there is a mandatory three day waiting period and a background check. You’re gonna have to put that book back on the shelf and go play with that gun instead.

Keep in mind this was a memorial for slain police officers, their brothers in blue, and their surviving families. And the only people who weren’t clapping were those people. That tells you all you need to know about this. 

But by far the most asinine and inappropriate part of this entire speech was this:

But even those who dislike the phrase “black lives matter,” surely, we should be able to hear the pain of Alton Sterling’s family.We should — when we hear a friend describe him by saying that, whatever he cooked, he cooked enough for everybody, that should sound familiar to us, that maybe he wasn’t so different than us.”

Oh he cooked enough food for everybody? Well why didn’t you just say so. Better make some t-shirts because this guy is the patron saint of barbecue. 

First of all, don’t try to tell me that Alton Sterling is “not so different than us.” Alton Sterling raped a 14 year old girl and went to jail for it. He was arrested for beating and choking his girlfriend. He went to jail for armed robbery and referred to himself as “Otis Deesnuts.” He owed over $25,000 in child support for the five children he made but never was really a father to. He is nothing like me. He is completely different. I proudly take care of and love my son. I don’t beat my wife and I respect her immensely. I don’t rape 14 year olds, and I work for a living so I don’t have to rob people. Seriously, fuck you for trying to compare me to him. 

Most importantly, stop trying to sell me black lives matter. I have experienced them enough in the past two years to know that they don’t give a shit about black lives. They are terrorists who only care about promoting their selfish agenda because it gives them an excuse to destroy other people’s property. 

Race relations in America haven’t been this bad in 50 years. People are so divided that somehow Americans thought it would be a wise idea to nominate Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for President. He is not the only person responsible, but he had so many opportunities to calm tensions. Instead he inflamed them and here we are. 

The bottom line is this was Obama’s big chance. I voted for him in 2008 because I was naive enough to believe that he could unite Americans. How fucking stupid was 2008 Turtleboy? Ever since he said the Cambridge Police “acted stupidly” in 2009, when they clearly did not, he has shown that he is a divider. I wanted to like this man, I really did. I still believe he was a better President than Hillary Clinton would’ve been. But he showed tonight that there is no event or tragedy he will not politicize. This was a golden opportunity to put politics aside and show compassion and love. Instead he turned it into a gun control, black lives matter infomercial that was more appropriate for the DNC Convention. 

Worst part of Obama's lecture about racial bias today? He did it at a memorial for 5 officers who were killed because they were white.
