Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign may have just earned a few more votes from Taunton residents after his vow to enforce tougher immigration laws may resonate a little bit louder with locals, after police arrested a Taunton immigrant, who is alleged to be in this country illegally, following a harrowing high speed chase on Friday afternoon.
After a chaotic, dangerous scene played out through five communities on Friday, Taunton and State police were able to track down and arrest 40-year-old Bruno Tinoco after he committed two armed robberies both at a CVS and a local auto body shop. He then carjacked a woman and led police on a lengthy chase through six towns, but eventually looped right back into Taunton and subsequently collided with another vehicle. Everything really came full circle for Bruno as he was arrested at almost the exact spot where his crime spree began.
Born in South America, Tinoco is a local MMA fighter for the “Brazilian Top Team – Boston”.
Meanwhile, he has not yet provided authorities with any evidence that he is currently a legally nationalized American citizen. He was also wanted on several outstanding warrants, including one for the armed robbery of a Walgreens Pharmacy on Winthrop St on July 20.
Tinoco was charged Friday with armed carjacking, armed robbery, failure to stop for a police officer and operating a motor vehicle to endanger.
He was also charged with the Walgreens robbery.
