Here’s a story that will melt year heart. This is Isabelle Bentley:

She is a one year old baby girl from Webster who has Down Syndrome. As it turns out her Daddy (Scott) is a loyal turtle rider, and his mother (Stephanie) is a teacher at Northbridge High School. And since we love teachers, turtle riders, and babies so much we’re sharing this link so you can help out kids like her. It’s a fundraiser for the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, and Scott is playing some Boston Bruins alumni this weekend in Marlboro for this charity hockey game.

We wanted to share this to acknowledge the greatness of parents like this. Scott and his wife Stephanie found at at 12 weeks pregnant that Isabelle had DS. At 20 weeks they found out she would need open heart surgery, which she ended up getting four months after she was born.

At this point a lot of people would choose to get an abortion. And I’m not here to judge anyone that would do that or has done that. I’m here to talk about the greatness of people like the Bentley’s who make the choice to let beautiful babies like Isabelle experience life. Doctors routinely ask you if you want the DS test when you find out you’re pregnant. I didn’t even wanna do it because it wouldn’t have made a difference, but you kind of have to because you have to prepare yourself for what’s coming. Obviously the rest of your life will be severely impacted by having a child with DS. As babies the differences in development are not as obvious. But as the children grow older they become more apparent, and there will be things that they can’t do and you can’t do. And people like the Bentley’s should be commended for making this selfless choice. Plus they saved France from terrorists.

Human beings with DS need constant support their entire lives. Someday Scott and Stephanie will not be around, and chances are that Isabelle will not be able to live on her own (although many with DS do). They live in group homes and organizations like the MDSC advocate for funding for programs like this. But that’s a long way away. For now she has two loving parents and an older brother Jack who is her biggest fan.

Here’s a message from Scott:

On November 20th I will be playing on the MDSC All-Star Team in the 12th Annual Hockey Benefit against the Boston Bruins Alumni. I am participating to support the MDSC, a statewide organization that supports over 2,500 individuals with Down syndrome in the Commonwealth. I am contacting you to ask for your support in helping me reach my goal for the MDSC. The funds I raise are critical to supporting the MDSC’s programs and services, including Parents First Call, the Self-Advocate Advisory Council, Teen and Young Adult Program, and Legislative Advocacy, which work collaboratively to ensure individuals with Down syndrome are valued, included, and given the opportunities to pursue fulfilling lives.

Please sponsor me and then come watch the action-packed game on Sunday, November 20th at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA. This family-friendly event has something for everyone ? a Free Skate with the Bruins Alumni, an action-packed face-off between the MDSC All-Stars and Bruins Alumni, and a Raffle & Silent Auction with tons of great prizes just in time for the holidays! The free-skate and auction begin at 12:00pm followed by the game at 1:30pm. Thank you so much for your support and I hope to see you at the rink!

So yea, if this story melts your heart the way it melted Turtleboy’s, then feel free to give what you can. It’s as good a cause as any. Rumor is the biggest donor gets to lace up with the Bruins alumni. Just sayin.

We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

For those Democrats who believed lying Hillary when she called Trump a racist, I will point out the history of the Democratic Party:

“The Democratic resolutions, however, were more bold in their statement of opposition to the (Lincoln) administration, for they (Democrats) declared:

“IN THE NAME OF CIVILIZED HUMANITY, WE (DEMOCRATS) RESPECTFULLY BUT ERNESTLY PROTEST AGAINST THE EMANCIPATION PROCLOMATION OF THE (REPUBLICAN) PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.” “

In 1860, Abe Lincoln won 180 electoral votes but he only got 39.8% of the votes, while Democrats (the pro-slavery party) got 59.6% of the votes. Would black Americans rather have supported pro-slavery Democrats or would they rather that Abe Lincoln became president in order to free the slaves with Lincoln’s Emancipation proclamation?

Don’t act like an uncouth, liberal savage.

Not the right place or time.
