Turtleboy wants to start highlighting the positive things that are going on in the community. The stuff that’s going on but no one sees. So we’re starting an Unsung Heroes of the Woo blog. Do you know someone who is doing great things for the community? Message us on Facebook or email turtleboysports@gmail.com if you have someone that you think deserves recognition.
Sean Lovely is a Worcester Police Officer who is organizing a great community event tomorrow on Union Hill for Halloween called the Union-Hill-o-Ween, which he pays for out of his own pocket:
As you can see people set up a table at the Worcester Academy’s Morse Field on Merien Ave. Kids in the Providence Street neighborhood grow up in a rough environment without things that many of us take for granted, like a Halloween where every house is well lit and gives out candy. That’s why this is such a brilliant idea. Kids go to one open area, walk around the track, get candy from friendly people, and stuff their faces for the next week with deliciousness. An awesome Halloween is something every kid in America should be able to enjoy, and thanks of Officer Lovely kids on Vernon Hill won’t be denied that opportunity.
The police in this country and our city get a bad rap because the media gets better ratings when by portraying the “us vs. them” picture. But cops in our community are doing great things on a daily basis that don’t get written about in the Telegram and Gazette. Sean Lovely is one of the unsung heroes of Worcester. Thanks for all you do.

Thank you Sean for giving us the chance to read all the articles of our friends who died far too young. Great job
I worked along side and on several occasions rode with Officer Sean Lovely. He is without a doubt a Saint. A Gulf War Veteran which I’m sure most people do not know this. You will never meet a person that has their shit more together like Worcester Police Officer Sean Lovely.
Sean embodies excellence and that comes natural to him. I am lucky to know him as now a private citizen.
Whats sad is that thing like this happen regularly without much fanfare. A lot of the guys and gals of the W.P.D. And W.F.D grew up in these “Tough” neighborhoods but decided not to grab the government dime for three and four generations but went on to become contributing citizens.
Officer Sean Lovely is a wonderful guy all around. He is also the same person who on his own time, took care of the memorial sites (on corner of streets) with the name of a soldier who has a corner named after them. He did the research of the names on the plaques, so if anyone wanted to know about it, and looked it up, the information was available.
Thank you for all you do.
What a stand up guy.
Now I wait for Jeffy-boy to come around and try to start shit. Because you all know it’s going to happen.
He couldn’t possibly have the gall to do that. No one would stoop that low I would hope.
WOW!!! Excellent idea highlighting the Kick Ass Rock Stars that we have right here in the Woo!!!
We see Sean walking the beat up here on the Hill all the time. He makes a difference every day!
Thanks!!!
That’s just wonderful!
Thank you, Sir!
