If there’s one holiday I never thought would be fucked with, it was Halloween. However, given that 2017 is the year of the SJW, it isn’t even surprising that another school has cancelled Halloween. This is after Needham pulled a similar cowardly move a couple weeks ago.

CBS Boston: The decorations are out and Halloween is two weeks away but there’s controversy at Boyden Elementary School in Walpole. The school will not be having its annual Halloween costume parade this year. “I think it’s a lot of political correctness,” a Walpole woman said. “I think it’s a shame because Halloween is the funnest day of the year next to Christmas for children.”

In a message to parents the school principal says, “…the costume parade is out of our ordinary routine and can be difficult for many students. Also, the parade is not inclusive of all the students and it is our goal each and every day to ensure all student’s individual differences are respected.” On Friday the school will have a Halloween party after school hours, but the school says Halloween itself will be “Black and Orange” spirit day. Parents WBZ-TV spoke with are not happy about the decision to cancel the parade.

“We have grand-kids going to Boyden School. Wonderful school,” a grandmother of a student said. “The Halloween party should happen on Friday cause all the kids are excited.”

“Put a costume on. Parade down the street. Let them have their little time,” a Walpole man said. “Why do you have to turn it into something political?”

BLACK AND ORANGE SPIRIT DAY? What I really want to know is who concocted this insane plot to shit all over the one day a year that kids get to prance around dressed like unicorns and storm troopers, devour handfuls of candy, and act like little psychos when the sugar hits. That’s what Halloween is! If one kid out of twenty doesn’t want to spend the day being a ninja and trying to snort pixie dust up his nose, then that kid can stay home or sit it out.

Instead they get an AFTER SCHOOL party? Seriously? Kids want it DURING school hours and I say let them have it! A day where they get to dress up, eat disgusting amounts of candy, and procrastinate school work because we all know teachers mostly give up when faced with the prospect of wrangling dozens of sugar high kids back to lessons. Let them have this one day!

This SJW sewage is brought to you by the spineless principal, Brendan Dearborn, and the school board that approved it. He says it’s because Halloween is not all inclusive, but also because of “safety concerns”. Nice try, Principal Poohead, but no one’s buying that one.

I’d like to know which parents are playing puppet with the gutless principal, or maybe he’s the real doosheroo. Halloween might be the one holiday that is actually all inclusive. Leave religion out of it. Kids like candy. Kids like costumes. Kids like Halloween. Let’s not complicate it with the asinine antics of psycho-triggered parents who need to control everything with their someone-will-be-offended paranoia.

What’s Christmas gonna be? Red and Green Spirit Day? Or should we just ax that one right now? What about Thanksgiving? Hug a turkey day instead?

Here’s the thing, the type of people whose delicate feelings are insulted by everything will always exist. Whether an offensive situation exists or not, they’ll twist the facts to make it one. So STOP giving these people the limelight. STOP bending to their will. People like this need to be put in their place because the alternative is cancelled Halloween parades, condemning “Merry Christmas” in favor of “Happy Holidays”, and vandalizing decades-old statues.

Anyways, I’ll just leave this right here… [email protected]

Wait, are you kidding me? Not inclusive enough? Any kid can throw on a costume and walk down a hallway … what are you worried about the kids who can’t afford a costume?

Are we as a society this afraid of offending people? Hell if that’s the case we are doomed as a nation. North Korea won’t need nukes they can use bad language and call us racial slurs and we’ll run for our comfort dogs and safe places right? Great lesson we teach our kids… let me explain a couple of basic, common sense things …

      1. You have NO RIGHT to not be offended. There is nothing in any founding document, or bible, or religious text that says you have a God given (or country given) right to go through life without being offended. In fact, you SHOULD BE offended. People should torment you at times in your life. It will help you develop the skills needed to cope with situations that make you angry, uncomfortable, sad, etc… But, just as you have no right to not be offended, does not mean there doesn’t need to be consequences for when someone does offend you… WITHIN REASON (I like caps!) If some kid in your school calls you a racial slur then yeah they should face some kind of punishment, but if they call you a ‘stinky doo head’ you should put on your big boy pants and get over it.

      2. You have a right to free speech. This means you cannot be arrested or blocked from saying what you want by the government. It DOES NOT mean you won’t face repercussions for what you say. Walk into Worcester shouting racial slurs and see how long it is until you catch a beat down. You have the right to say what you want, whether someone else likes it or not, whether someone else agrees with it or not. And that goes BOTH WAYS! You can’t claim “Freedom of speech” and burn the flag while telling someone else they can’t use the Rebel Flag because its offensive.

Wait, I’m off topic … school and Halloween, right … that school sucks. LOL! Next thing you know there will be a Tooth Fairy tax and parents will have to claim the kids Tooth Fairy money as income on their 1080’s … hey the socialists want everyone to do their fair share right?

What I don’t understand is how they time this stuff. If they canceled it at the start of the school year it wouldn’t be that bad.
And for Christ’s sake, LIE and say it’s and academic issue, not a political one.

    4. Just Wondering?

Black and Orange Day? Would that otherwise be known as Sharpton and Trump day?

Maybe you should take it easy on this poor guy. He is a white male. Unless he is openly gay all he has to do is piss off a couple of SJW’s and there will be a minority female with a hyphenated name sitting at his desk in a week

Brendan, a few (and I mean a few) may commend you on this, but the vast majority think your an idiot.

I find black and orange day to be exclusive of all the other colors. Should be multicolored end of October plain clothes celebration.

      Inclusive? INCLUSIVE?!?

Halloween is massively inclusive! The gender-fluid kids can dress up like, err, their inner selves. The handicapped kids in wheelchairs can dress as Timmy from ‘South Park’. The kids who are offended or too poor to afford a costume can stay home and tell people their costume is ‘The Invisible Man’. Everyone can have fun.

If my kid attended this school I’d send him in dressed all in brown wearing a poo emoji hat. When asked he’d say “What’s my costume? I’m Principal Dearborn.”

Friend just sent this to me. I love the holidays. But. Mr Dearborn did so much for my kids when he was here in Stoughton. Tough one for me.
