A man breaking into a home in Warren to steal panties got his ass beat, and for some reason the other guy is the one who is still in jail.

Imagine you were sitting in your house when all of a sudden you heard someone breaking in and rummaging through your Mama’s panties. Now imagine in you’re Goddamn WARREN. The #17 ranked dumpy municipality in all of Massachusetts. The same town where poor Molly Bish disappeared from in 1999. Shouldn’t you have the right to run him out of there and kick his ass? Well, not in Massachusetts. In Massachusetts you go to jail for that.

Beautiful cultural district of Warren

Beautiful cultural district of Warren

According to our source a 28 year old named Gerard Gaumond, who was visiting family from Colorado, is now facing assault charges for defending his territory and taking justice into his own hands. After catching 43 year old Eric Sinclair breaking into this house, Mr. Gaumond chased him over the Quaboag river, through the woods, and onto some random bridge where he pummeled him with a rock and a stick. Then the cops got there and cuffed both of them. The perp was found with a pair a women’s panties in his pocket, and his face was smeared with own blood from the beating he received.

Mr. Gaumond is now being held on $10,000 bail.

So yea, this should obviously be a case of Warren justice right? I mean, are we just supposed to let criminals run away into the night now? What happens when they come back the next day? Just hope the cops get there in time? Give me a break. A man has the right to defend his castle, especially when it’s being raided by panty-snatching sneakthieves from Warren. The guy should be thankful Mr. Gaumond didn’t have a gun, because it would’ve been over a lot quicker. This is why criminals move to Massachusetts – because at the end of the day they have more rights than the people they’re victimizing.

The bottom line is, when you break into someone’s home to still his mother’s panties, you’re taking a calculated risk that you’re gonna get your ass beat. You don’t get to whine about the beating because you were too fat and stupid not to get caught.

Living in a small town is not what I expected when we came here many, many years ago. We came from the big city and were brought up to respect the police department and call them first if they were needed. We didn’t take matters into our own hands because we didn’t have to…we knew we were protected. We don’t have that here! Being a small town, the law decides who is a “member” of the community and who is not. There is no forgiving for anything or anyone and the “black” list you are added too is never to be forgiven…no matter what. To complain is the wrong move. We have to “remain silent” or matters become worse and the authorities will do whatever they can to drive people and families out of town, and still they make our lives as miserable as possible. I don’t know what I would do if I was being robbed, but I do know that I would be reacting on my adrenalin and shouldn’t be judged for that. I also agree that the thief should have been detained and not beaten like we are said he was. The “club” that is our police department needs to be shaken up and cleaned out and officers moved around and not being on the force for a lifetime. Relations also should not be part of the same department. I believe that’s a conflict of interest to the public. Justice in our town…no way. Favoritism…all the way. We should be able to live in peace and be safe and protected by “Warren’s Best”, which is not that anymore, nor has it been for years.

It was a shock to see the picture of the “condominiums” in the paper.

Turtle boy disagree with your article will be the first time… I live in west warren feel safer here then I ever did in worcester! Second you do not have the legal right to defend your home or property unless you are in iminent danger, and in this case the intruder was fleeing the scene where’s the danager. People of Massachusetts need to know the law before taking it in their own hands. This gut was totally wrong the intruder was fleeing the property this guy chased him to beat him that’s against the law…

Where does it say that the underwear came from this house? I keep trying to find this in all of the articles. What if they were just in his pocket? It’s not a crime (nor perverted) to have underwear in your pocket. It’s a crime to break in someone’s home but the punishment this man received does not fit the crime in any way. People who say they would have done the same thing are sick. If this man was strong enough to hurt him so severely, he was strong enough to restrain him instead until the cops got there.

If the intruder had attempted to rape someone in the home – I can see where the rage would come from. But no one is claiming that. What if this guy was an invited guest who just pissed him off? We don’t know since the man was beaten so badly he is in a freaking coma! UNNECESSARY VIOLENCE and I can’t believe people are applauding this.

It’s hard to make a serious judgement in a case like this where one of the people involved cannot plead their case because of their injuries. Yeah you have a right to protect family, pets, and property but once the threat is over let the police handle the rest. I read comments about how the man arrested was just so kind and wonderful, kind of reminds me about the comments made about Michael Brown in Fergurson Mo. You can always find someone to speak nice of you even if you are totally guilty. So lets let law enforcement do their job and hope they find out what really happened. Could be anything from a drug deal gone bad to an example of a person with some serious anger management issues. Bottom line though is you don’t try to kill a fleeing man just because he has a pair of panties in his pocket.

Protecting his property over a mile away? Fucking spare me. Hebhad that long to chase him.he could have called the police…. No one knows why he SUPPOSEDLY broke in to steal panties? & ran but needed to be beaten to death, as in he died 3 times & they can’t take him out of his drug induced coma or he flat lines… I hope this douche does get charged with more then an assault n battery

If the guy beat the man in the house, because the criminal put up a fight or threatened him …… no problem. But C’mon … to chase the guy over the river & thru the woods ……. then caught him and beat him senseless, he should be arrested too. If he caught him and simply tried to detain him until Police arrived, that’s a different story. Save the macho bravado …..

to those who disagree …….. if during this beating (where clearly the chaser’s life was NOT in jeopardy) …. and the panty thief died ….. do you really believe that’s justified? Basically a death sentence for a minor crime???? Don’t be silly and say yes

So basically I can just take a life by randomly surprising an innocent person outside my house or on a street, beat him to death, and stick my wallet in his pocket. Say he robbed me ……. get it

I’ve known Beck for several years here in Telluride Co
He has worked for me.. He is a very kind and caring person ,
I am sure the intruder got what he deserved… If this was in Colorado, Beck probably wouldn’t even be in Jail or even arrested.

Oddly, I know another Beck who is in CO, has beaten a woman and her dog, and nope, no jail time. Just a quick stay in the drunk tank to sober up. Then he convinced the woman to drop charges. CO seems like a hippie state anyway.

Crime is a risky business. Who cares if the thief got his ass (and head and face and whatever else) beat? He deserved it. Even if he was chased 1.5 miles. If you can’t risk the beating, don’t commit the crime.

The extent to which the man was beaten and how far from the house he was chased was completey unnecessary and goes far beyond “defending your castle”. Also, stealing his MOTHER’s panties? Shows how clueless you are to this individual’s life and the case. Please, if you are going to pick a case to write an “article” on to show how corrupt you think the justice system is, at least pick one you know all the facts to. Not all of this town is full of crap like this. Some of us cringe knowing we live near people capable of beating a man nearly to death, especially when we grew up with these people coming over our house for birthday parties, etc.

Some motherfucker breaks into my home and steals my mother’s underwear better pray the cops catch him before I do. Because I won’t need a stick and a rock to beat the shit out of him.

I’m not a violent man, but there’s only one way to respond to fucking deviants like that.

I cringe knowing I live a whole town away from a man who is breaking into a young girls home and stealing her underwear. A sick man like that should not be allowed to walk the streets.

I went to high school with the guy who beat the perv, and from what iremember, he’s one of the nicest, most well adjusted people I’ve met. Hopefully this doesn’t screw anything up for him.

  • Erica

Normally I agree with you, but this time I do see some issue. My husband is a first responder in Warren as are many of our friends and there is more to the story then what is out there. The big issue was that Berg chased him over a mile and after catching him beat him unconscious. Eric ended up with severe lacerations, a head wound, and seizures so bad that blood was squirting from him across the ambulance. Warren never life flights, the last time it happened was almost 15 years ago and yes they respond to accidents on the Pike with dying people. The ambulance itself took over 4 hours to clean because of the mess. Berg is not being charged so much for taking matters into his own hands but for the excess in which he did. The fact that he continued on after Eric was unconscious is the real issue.

good post. I wonder TB what your take would’ve been if he had beaten him to death? The fact that he had to use a rock and a stick says pussy all over it. Would’ve he have chased a guy that was his size or bigger? Doubt it.

There is no way Beck chased the perp over a mile. it’s less than an eighth mile from the home to the location where they were found.

Not true Diana, we do have the castle law with exceptions you have to make sure that you and your family have absolutely no other way out of the house and the thief has a weapon and is threatening your life then and only then are you just in killing him. Just don’t wound him because then you will be sued ( now thank the liberals)!!!

my opinion is the cops should of told Gerard to get loss and they would handle it from there ,but because of all the liberal BS the cops need to be nurse maids to all the low life’s and screw over all the inercent people they need to take there lead from our useless president

We need to treat breaking and entering as an assault on a person’s psyche. After that the perp is on their own. I went skydiving and had to sign multiple pages saying skydiving is dangerous, you may die. Make first offenders sign the same statement.

Actually, in Mass, we have neither the Castle Defense or Stand Your Ground. If someone breaks into your house in Massachusetts, I truly think the “reasonable” thing to do in the law’s eyes, is hide or run. Aww thank you liberals!

Another correction. Those ultra luxury condos in your picture are in the exclusive community of West Warren. Right on Route 67 – go up the hill into Ware and it’s an easy shot into White Trash Paradise.

Panty raids aren’t as innocent as they were when Booger, Gilbert and Lewis were doing them.
