NY Daily News: A video reportedly showing the immediate aftermath of a police-involved shooting in Bridgeport, Conn. has family members questioning if police allowed a 15-year-old to needlessly die. Jayson Negron was shot and killed by police last Tuesday, but a grainy, amateur video reportedly obtained by state police is raising several questions as to whether his death could have been prevented. The video appears to show Negron’s head moving from a rightward position to face down. Giovanni Rivera, 24, apparently the cousin of the victim, posted the video — which police admit to have seen — to Twitter and Instagram.
Rivera also posted a sad message on May 12 to both accounts alleging the incident didn’t have to turn fatal, saying “I’m in so much pain right now, they left my baby cousin on the ground to die.” According to authorities, Bridgeport Officer James Boulay, 30, opened fire on Negron after the latter allegedly struck the officer in a stolen vehicle. The 15-year-old was then pronounced dead at the scene. Rivera said Bridgeport police told his family that Negron was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. He believes the video shows otherwise, according to the Hartford Courant.
“If that crucial part of the story is a lie, everything else is up for question,” he said.
In the minute-long clip, Negron is shown, handcuffed, lying face down on the ground. At one point, the camera pans away from the victim. Once it finds him again, his head has turned a different direction as an officer is seen standing close by. Sirens coming from emergency vehicles can be heard approaching as bystanders watch the incident unfold.
Bridgeport Police Chief Armando Perez said Negron’s body lay in the street for around six hours so that officials could gather evidence. Further, shields were reportedly not set up around Negron’s body. There was reported confusion as to whether Perez’s staff could cover the body before state police detectives arrived. The police chief indicated that a forensic official told him he could’ve covered the body with a sheet.
“I don’t care if it’s a good guy or a bad guy — I will never allow that to happen again,” Perez said. “Never. That’s normal procedure — we hide the body.”
Boo-fucking-hoo. Oh, they left his body lying in the street uncovered. That’s so terrible. Ya know what a great way to avoid this happening to you is? Don’t steal cars and drive into cops. Seriously, I’m supposed to feel bad for this kid because they didn’t cover up his body and allegedly lied and said he was shot in the head instead of the chest? It doesn’t matter if they shot him in the head or the chest. They shot him because he hit two of them with a stolen car. Why the fuck are we even debating shit that doesn’t matter? He stole a car and drove into two cops. When you do that, you die. End of story.
Oh, and innocent little Jayson had just picked up a 22 year old “friend” to go record a new album (because it’s perfectly normal for 15 year olds to pick up their 22 year old friends to record albums.) According to the passenger Julian Fyffe, he didn’t know the car was stolen:
Fyffe, wearing a bandage on his arm, says he has no idea how the events of what was supposed to be a simple afternoon of practicing music with a friend turned tragic. Fyffe had just finished working at his full-time job when Jayson Negron, 15, picked him up from his home to go record music at a studio they use on Wood Avenue. Police have said the car Negron was driving was stolen.
The news is coming over for an interview? Better take my shirt off.
Hey here’s a thought Julian – you probably should’ve known something was up when a 15 year old picked you up in a vehicle. Ya know, because 15 year olds don’t have driver’s licenses. And if you knew this kid well enough for him to have scheduled a time to pick you up, then you obviously knew he, a) doesn’t own a car because he’s a child, and b) can’t legally drive a car (even if it was his car) because he’s 15.
It’s hilarious that the mainstream media lets these idiots get away with statements like this unchallenged.
Everything I need to know about Jayson Negron can be learned from the crowd at his wake:
Smiling, posting up for IG pics, and smoking blunts in flat brimmed Chicago Bulls hats. If this is how you are commemorated, then you lived a pretty shitty and worthless life. At the end of the day the legacy you left behind is another RIP t-shirt and a hashtag. Facts.
And as usual the masses are out doing what they do best – protesting and blaming the cops:
Oh look, more people who aren’t putting any of the blame on the 15 year old who put himself in that position, the 22 year old who for some reason is friends with a child and rides around in stolen cars, or the parents who raised a 15 year old who drives around in stolen cars. Let’s blame the cops who protected the rest of society from a dangerous criminal by neutralizing the suspect. Makes sense.
