Kid Who Whined About Police Brutality After Being Arrested At Tolman High School Ended Up Raping A 13 Year Old Disabled Girl And The Pawtucket Schools Covered It Up

In October of 2015 we blogged about an incident at Tolman High School in Pawtucket, in which a school resource officer slammed some asshole to the ground who was fighting in the main office. It was back when there was a big debate in Worcester and other communities, as to whether police officers belonged in public high schools. Our opinion was the sensible one – OBVIOUSLY they belong in schools. If you go to any event with over 1,000 people attending it, there would be multiple detail cops required. Why should schools be any different? Kids don’t leave their problems and beefs at the door. If a kid has a problem with another kid, they will fight in school. And since teachers have ZERO training on restraining kids, and many of the teachers are women, it’s not reasonable to ask them to break up 20 year old sophomores who need to establish dominance in the underground food stamp trade.
But of course black lives matter and the rest of the rice-a-roni patrol protested against it because it starts the “school to prison pipeline:
Also, that’s racist. Because any time cops interact with other human beings who are not white, it’s automatically racist. This is what crazy Ol’ Gordon Davis and his minions believe. Cops in schools will turn into Gestapo agents and start beating on black kids for no reason, arresting them, and thus locking them perpetually in the criminal justice system.
But the facts show otherwise. And last year, after a full calendar year of putting cops in the Worcester Public Schools (something turtle nation was solely responsible for) everything was WAY better:
“There’s definitely a decrease in arrests, disruptions and assaults,” said the Worcester Public School’s school safety liaison, Rob Pezzella. He credited theaddition of full-time school resource officers to the high schools after a series ofgun incidents and assaults last year.
Now, Pezzella said he sees these officers building relationships with the students, teachers and parents at their respective schools. Deputy Chief Steve Sargent said those relationships are invaluable from a policing perspective.
“It’s invaluable,” said Sargent of having officers in the schools. “Community policing is really what we do. This is another way we can be in the neighborhood. This is closing the loop for us.”
Anyway, there was outcry from the SJW patrol after the incident with the cop at Tolman High School went viral:
Al Dente was the lone voice of reason:
The two students who were restrained were brothers – 17 year old Ivander DeBurgo and 14 year old Tyler. They played it up for the cameras with the whole dindu nuffin routine:
And since school administrators are generally gutless climbers who give into mob mentality, they got rid of the resource officer. They sided with these two asshole kids over the cop who was restoring law and order to the school. But Ivander was such a habitual problem who made it impossible for teachers to do their job, that they sent him two blocks away to the “Pawtucket Learning Academy.” And when you go to a school that has the words, “Learning” and “Academy” in it, you know it’s the school for the bad kids. They always give the alternative school for the bad kids a name that sounds like they’ve been chosen to win a Nobel Prize, because God forbid these kids ever get their feelings hurt.
Well, that turned out to be a dumb move, because less than a year later Ivander DeBurgo raped a 13 year old special needs student in the bathroom. Good thing they got rid of that school resource officer though. He was mean. Black lives matter. Thirteen year old disabled girls? Not so much. Now the parents are suing the school district for basically trying to cover it up:
The parents of a disabled Pawtucket girl who was sexually assaulted in a bathroom of a city school filed a lawsuit Tuesday morning, alleging the school department and the city did not respond properly before or after the June 2016 crime, the Target 12 Investigators have learned. The three-count federal lawsuit – which is seeking $3.5 million, punitive damages and other costs – states Ivander DeBurgo, who was 18 at the time, committed the assault on or about June 17, as the victim was waiting for her father to pick her up at the Pawtucket Learning Academy.
“DeBurgo…forced the Minor plaintiff on the sink, held her arm down, pulled some of her clothing down” and raped her, according to the lawsuit.
DeBurgo was sentenced to 25 years in prison, with 10 to serve last May. Court records show a judgment of conviction was entered for one count of first-degree child molestation.
Now the schools are gonna have to settle this lawsuit for millions of dollars. How can they win? They knew this kid was an asshole. They knew he was trouble. Instead of just getting rid of him they shipped him off to the bad kid school where he’d be there problem. And a disabled girl had to pay for the price for it.
Oh, and to make matters worse, after she was raped they wouldn’t let her transfer schools:
Count one of the lawsuit accuses the defendants of being “deliberately indifferent” to the parents’ request to transfer the teenager out of the Pawtucket school system after the crime and the other alleged incidents. The request was made “because of her disability and disability from the rape and fear of further harm,” the document said.
Yea, no big deal. It’s just a rape. Nice to see the Pawtucket Schools, and superintendent Patty DiCenso consistently getting this kid’s back. First by siding with him in the resource officer incident, and then by going out of there to try to sweep his rape thing under the rug.
The fucked up part about this is that they took IMMEDIATE and swift action against a cop who did his job by restraining two out of control assholes in the main office. He doesn’t get a second chance because of the anti-police mentality that was running rampant at that time. But Ivander Durango got chance after chance after chance. The media victimized him. Protesters gathered in his honor. He got to remain in the public schools where he raped a disabled 13 year old. But I guess Patty DiCenso had no choice. After all, there was a hashtag:
Of course at the same time this comes from WAY above their heads in Pawtucket. This all stems from President Obama, and his Education Secretary Arne Duncan, when they used an executive order to mandate that schools essentially use a quota system to make sure they are not suspending too many students of color:
The Obama administration is urging schools to abandon overly zealous discipline policies that civil rights advocates have long said lead to a school-to-prison pipeline that discriminates against minority students. The wide-ranging series of guidelines issued Wednesday in essence tells schools that they must adhere to the principle of fairness and equity in student discipline or face strong action if they don’t.
“In our investigations, we have found cases where African-American students were disciplined more harshly and more frequently because of their race than similarly situated white students,” the Justice and Education departments said in a letter to school districts. “In short, racial discrimination in school discipline is a real problem.”
When you’re getting orders like that from Washington, what do you think schools are gonna do with kids like Ivander Durango? Suspend them? Nope. You’re incentivizing them to cover it up. Because Ivander Durango is black. And if we expel him for raping a girl, or getting arrested in the main office, they’re gonna have to report that data to a suit in Washington DC, and it’s gonna look bad on a chart. Then the DOJ is gonna come to town and write a report about how all the teachers are racist and only discipline students of color. If he was white it all would’ve been so much easier.
This is why all these people whining about Betsy Devos crack me up. Is Betsy Devos completely incompetent? Absolutely. She’s probably the most unqualified person who has ever served in any presidential cabinet in American history. But the guy who came before her was just as bad, and no one even knows who he is. I didn’t hear a peep from SJWs about Arne Duncan and Obama and the damage they did to American public schools. This is the kind of shit that’s been going on in public schools for the last eight years, and now the Pawtucket Public Schools are gonna have to pay for their complicity. Superintendent Patty DiCenso should resign immediately. If the cop loses his job for doing his job, then why should she get to keep her job while having such a clear lack of institutional control?
