Charlene and her two kids moved in with her boyfriend Paul Colameco, and the boyfriend’s mother Paula Colameco. They handed the landlord, Andy Costa, three months rent, including a $130 stipend from Father Bill’s. (That would be the people who run the homeless shelters in Quincy and Brockton.) Charlene wrote, and bounced, checks for the two months after that for the Forrest Ave Townhouse in Plymouth and then just quit trying to pretend she was going to pay. She didn’t even make an effort. Just started abusing the housing laws.
Andy and his girlfriend Janice started eviction proceedings to get Charlene’s brood out but, because of the laws, it took him months and months to get them evicted. So long, in fact, that Charlene left owing more than $27K in back rent, from living for free for TWO YEARS, and other expenses which she has defaulted on the court mandates payments even to this day.
So, let’s jump back a bit to while these all star slime balls were living completely free.
Paul, at some point during the squatting, dies of a heroin overdose. Charlene, who I’m guessing was eager to get Paul’s mom out of her free digs, had the woman start a GoFundMe (since removed) to finance a new place to live. Classy.
Once Paula got the boot, Charlene started posting on local town pages saying that she was looking to rent out two rooms, at the tune of $500 a pop, to anyone who would take them. What she ended up with was two homeless guys subletting the spot and living with her two young kids. So, she’s collecting $1k extra every month and still not paying rent.
The hot water heater crapped out at one point, and because she couldn’t call the landlords to fix it like a normal person, she paid for that to be replaced instead of just coughing up the rent money.
Months go by, and when the eviction had finally come through, Scumfortable Charlene was scurrying to pack all her shit and left without telling anyone. It was too much of a pain in the ass to finish so she just left all her shit there, including her cat which she abandoned.
One of the bums she had move in didn’t get the memo. He was sound asleep on the living room floor when Andy and Janice walked in. Janice said she thought the guy was dead. Charlene and her kids were gone but what was left behind was epic.
Mind you, there were two kids living in this filth.
Andy and Janice had to sue Charlene to get back all the rent and the cost of all the damage done. Much to their surprise, they found out that Charlene had used Andy’s information to turn on the gas and electric and hadn’t paid it the whole time she was living there. So, they had to sue for that too.
The court ruled in their favor and Charlene was ordered to pay them back. It didn’t take her long to cry poor mouth and start defaulting on that too.
Meanwhile, Charlene found herself a new job, a fiancé, and some new digs. She’s busy posting all over social media about her trips to the Bahamas, her new clothes, getting her nails done, tattoos, and going out to eat at least three times a week.
The final straw for Janice and Andy was when they saw Charlene start advertising her business all over the Plymouth Connect page. They contacted us for a good old fashion shaming since they hadn’t seen a dime out of her.
So, Charlene, instead of going out for pizza and taking vacations, why don’t you cough up the cash to the people you robbed? It takes a serious lurch to do what you did to these people. You’re the reason that so many families have to spend MONTHS saving to try to get a place. Well, the good news is that if you keep up stealing money from good people you will have a permanent residency behind bars.
