This Turtleboy luckily does not live in Worcester. Because, no offense, but you’d have to be an idiot to live in Worcester. Either that or you just enjoy paying property taxes and getting nothing in return. Your roads don’t get plowed, your schools are underfunded, and there’s potholes everywhere. But at least they’re spending all this money on corrupt non-profits, DOJ race discussions, and police on horseback, because there’s nothing Worcester likes to do more than pretend like it’s a real city.

So yea, I always have been and always will be suburban Turtleboy. I go into Worcester when I need something that they don’t provide in my town right outside. Today was one of those days, and once again I was reminded how much I enjoy not living in Worcester. Because today was trash and recycling day on the West Side, and when it’s windy like it was today, the streets of Worcester get littered with garbage as a result of Worcester’s recycling program.

Just a reminder, the whole purpose of recycling is to save the environment. Not in Worcester though. Because Worcester is the only city in America where recycling leads to trash covered streets. That’s because you dolts are still using those stupid binsAnd this is what happens to those bins when it gets windy:

And you know those lazy pricks at Casella aren’t picking up ANYTHING that isn’t in the little bin.

Meanwhile in my town, and every other civilized place on earth, we have these magical recycling bins with wheels and tops that close:

20130627_Trash3

They’re wicked cool. They fit like, five times the amount of shit. You don’t have to pick them up since they’re mobile. And most importantly, wind doesn’t matter because they have tops that close.

I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t you have these things? The city OBVIOUSLY has the money since they’re willing to become a sanctuary city and risk losing $59 million in federal aid. The City Council just gave themselves a 100% pay raise. They just bought a bunch of horses and paid to have cops learn how to ride them. Surely they can spring for one of these things for each domicile. How much could it possibly cost? Either way, how is it not worth it? Driving through Worcester today all you saw was trash EVERYWHERE!! How do you expect to get people to move to your city or do business there when it’s covered in hobo juices and trash?

So yea, today was a reminder of how good life is when you don’t live in Worcester.

I live in a Worcester suburb and we have a covered bin that is exclusive for trash. We use a regular open bin for recycling like Worcester does. This is definitely not exclusive to Worcester.

So I just found my Weber grill..it was halfway to Westboro (borough, borrow) but appears to be functional. Happy day!

During my time downtown yesterday in the wind storm, I thought I saw a Flying Fupasloth…well maybe, not actually flying, it was kinda gliding…a Gliding Fupasloth

This is what Worcester gets for having the following:

    1. Not having a Republican Mayor since Walter Cookson (1930’s)
    2. Not having an executive mayor since adopting the Plan E format of local gov’t in 1950.
    3. Not having a GOP-controlled City Council ever (?)
    4. Having only on average 10% of the registered voters show up to the polls during the city elections (odd numbered years).
    5. Having only 5 district councilors (with the other half are at-large, whom usually come from the West Side). Ideally there should be 10 ward councilors (1 from each ward and every area of the City).

Caesar Augustus lives in Millis and makes more than a member of Congress. He is “hired” by the City Council and works under a negotiated contract. Because Worcester citizens do not elect the chief executive, the West Side (which is supposed to be the rich area) is full of trash!

Wow! You seem to have everything figured out, all we need are Republicans! Brilliant!

To be fair, I live in a town with the wheeled, lidded trash cans and they were all over the place in the wind yesterday too.

Thank you so much for this timely article. We own a property in Worcester and are appalled by the basic lack of services and the continuation of their FAILED RECYCLING and TRASH program. If a person is to choose between buying yellow trash bags or milk and bread for the kiddos, which do you think they are going to choose? Also, what do you think they will do with their household trash when they don’t purchase the yellow bags? Dump it in the nearest alley, public trash receptacle or park. Great policies!

Unfortunately, this is true in most communities because the average person doesn’t know how to properly pack and secure their trash. For open recycle bins, you should crush cans and plastic and pack them on the bottom, Heavier items, such as glass, should go on top. Cardboard needs to be cut up and packed so it doesn’t function like a wind sail. Plastic bags should be tied and tied to each other for extra weight. And the worst thing people do is put foam peanuts in a paper bag and place it at the curb for the wind to knock it over and blow them all over the hood.

I am in favor of secure containers, but the SJW’s will complain that it is a hardship if you require people to purchase them, and if you give them away, the hood rats will simply use them for target practice.

Let’s face it — some people are just slobs and their isn’t much you can do about it. A tour of their kitchens will show you just how filthy some of these people really are. Then they just blame the landlord.

We stopped recycling years ago, got sick of the Hobo’s going through our bins looking for bottle returns. They would leave our recyclables on the ground and the city wouldn’t pick it up. I cash in my own bottle deposits. I paid that nickel, I want it back. So stupid how the residents of Worcester put their recyclables out on a windy day knowing the shit is gonna hit the fan.

    Wtf
    March 2, 2017 at 6:58 pm

I would say it’s ok because the chain gang will be out to pick up all the trash and we need to keep them busy, but then I remembered its inhumane to make criminals pound rocks or pick up trash, instead we give them 3 squares and an education. That makes tons of sense! Sheriff arpaio in Arizona has the right idea, hot tents, shitty food, and actual manual labor. That’s how to deter crime, not a nice cozy pillow and blanket and cable tv. Clearly the junkie chick from CT isn’t worried about being put in jail, meanwhile I don’t commit crimes because I actually am afraid to get arrested and go to jail. There are just never any consequences and that starts at home and in school. Now you can’t even put a kid in the corner because it is considered public humiliation, well no shit , that’s exactly what it is supposed to be. Wtf. Nothing makes sense to me anymore, I think I really am crazy!

I totally agree, and this fucking bullshit of coddle the fucking perpetrators needs to fucking end. Fucking SJWs need the chain-gang treatment, maybe it will deter other potential snowflakes from becoming an SJW asshole along with preventing junior hood rats from becoming career criminals.

Has to be a better way. Obviously the city does not want to find a solution, for various reasons.

Even if they had covers they would still blow over and make a mess. All of Mass looked like this today. But yes, Worcester needs to work on its waste management for sure.

Ok, sorta funny but then I remembered “Oh Yeah, this is the type of shit that causes some of them to take random swings at us”. So, nice to know there still plenty of really ignorant crackers out there waving red flags at the bulls. Thanks ignorant crackers.

Lived in Worcester for 17 years on Grafton Hill. Old school Street tho we (neighbors) all picked it up next day.

I miss that house, tbh. Problem is the shitbags are starting to creep in. Grafton Hill’s going the way of Vernon Hill and it sucks.

Used to be Polish from what I remember. Too bad groups are moving in …whose ethnicity would make me racist if I mentioned them. Those groups act tribal, which sure translates to gang.

I’ll say this ….My neighbhood used to be older Polish people. Was always clean. Now we have more entitled disrespectful people then ever before. One 5 year old sat in her mom’s Lexus in front of my house and threw her trash right out of the window. I asked if she was going to pick it up and her mother flips out. Really. I just swept the rubbish OFF the entire Street and she’s flipping out. This is how children are being raised today…To not care.

In the town of Groton, Ma. you have two choices
    1) Pay for trash removal which does not include recycling or
    2) Drive your trash and recycling to the town dump where there is a spot for recycling

Either way, you don’t have any recycling or trash on the town streets because….
    It’s NOT Worcester
