Hey, remember how we were talking about the dog that belongs to the family of Jerod Mayo? He was with his “trainer” when he, a chunky little English Bulldog with stumpy little legs and shit breathing, somehow ran away. Well there’s been some new information surrounding the case:

From Missing Dogs Massachusetts: “An Update from Jerod & Chantal Mayo concerning the disappearance of their English Bulldog, “Knox”, while under the care of Off Leash K9 Training-Providence (physical location – Cranston, RI)

These are the known facts in the case as of today:

Due to housebreaking issues following the arrival of a new baby, the family sought the advice of a trainer for Knox.

Based on reviews/testimonials and described qualifications, Off Leash k9 Training –Providence’ two week board/train program was selected. Off Leash Training Providence is a franchised partner of Off Leash K9 Training, Woodbridge, VA. Payment was made and accepted, and Knox was placed in the care of said trainer in the middle of April.

At the conclusion of the training period, Knox was returned home, without the pre-paid equipment or training outline that had been promised so that the Mayo family could continue and reinforce Knox’ training. After multiple requests directed to the trainer regarding the above items went unanswered, she finally responded and excused her tardiness with the excuse of a family emergency.

Since Knox’s training at home had now lagged, and the Mayos were not in possession of a curriculum or equipment, the trainer offered their standard free refresher course as described on, and posted to their corporate website. May 24th was the agreed on date for the commencement of this refresher course, and Knox was picked up by the trainer and once again was in her care.

On June 9th, the Mayos contacted the trainer to inquire about Knox’ progress and schedule his return home. Their inquiry was met with excuses as to why he needed to remain longer; another family emergency, his housebreaking had slipped, he was helpful in modeling behavior for another dog that was in residence, etc.. Said trainer committed to returning Knox home on Tuesday, July 3rd.

The Mayos were uncomfortable with this offer as multiple requests for photo/video updates were ignored & on Thursday June 28th, they requested Knox’ immediate return, or they would travel to the training location to retrieve him themselves. The Mayos received a text stating that Knox would be returned promptly (approx.. 35 minute travel time to the Mayo’s home from training location) following feeding.

4 hours later, after multiple calls and texts had been placed to the trainer, she answered her phone. She described having “lost” Knox at Joe’s Rock in Wrentham where she said she had stopped to exercise him.

Police were called and responded Knox was not located.

Off Leash K9 Training Corporate, responded by stating that the family had sought free training which was not due to them. This free refresher course IS INDEED included in their program contract. Off Leash K9 Training corporate & the Providence trainer then ceased all contact with the family. There was no explanation, no apology, no refund, no discussion and as far as we know, no letting the trainer go as an active employee.

In addition, the family was told that a local scent tracking dog, paid for by Off Leash Corporate, had pulled remains of Knox from the pond at Joe’s Rock, and that based on the tracking dog’s reliability, his body remained at the bottom of the pond. The family was told that they would be given no further information as they weren’t the party that paid for the tracking services.

The Mayo family, desperate to get their beloved dog/family member back, and to obtain closure, hired a dive team to search the pond. The dive team reported that there was no deceased dog, or any animal found in the pond.

Fast forward a few days, some extensive police work, & research and footwork by many; it became known that this trainer was due in court today (7-12-18) for running an unlicensed kennel and was seen on surveillance video at her home in Cranston around the time that Knox was described as ”missing” from Wrentham.

The police again questioned the trainer, and she then formally admitted that she made the whole story up! Knox was NEVER AT JOE’S ROCK in Wrentham.

She gave an official statement at the Cranston Police station on Monday 7-9-18. In her statement, she claims that Knox was last seen at her residence in Cranston, RI on 6-22-18. She described leaving the house for approximately 3 hours to meet a client. She said that when she left, Knox was secured in a crate on the first floor of the residence and when she returned, Knox was missing. The trainer lives at this residence with her husband and ailing mother.

Despite living in the same home, she described her husband living separately, with little communication. He resides in the basement with his five dogs and she resides on the first and second floor along with her mother.

Her husband and her mother were the only two people with access to Knox. She claims that she suspects he may have done something with Knox while she was gone.

Subsequently, the Rhode Island SPCA has seized 5 dogs from the trainer’s home and her husband faces potential animal cruelty charges.

If you have ANY information related to this case or the whereabouts of Knox, please contact the Law Enforcement Division of the Rhode Island SPCA: 401-438-8150 or

Oh my word, when I read that she admitted to lying, about the animal cruelty, that she had an illegal kennel and about her shit bag semi-husband my heart just sank. I’m just gonna say it right now: That poor doggy ain’t never going home to his loving family. None of her story made sense in the first place. To start, Mayo had this to say when he first went missing:

“It’s funny, but it’s not funny, because the thing about Knox, he couldn’t even walk down the street without huffing and puffing,Mayo told WJAR-TV.”

Also, the electronic collar he was wearing was recovered “in pristine condition” meaning it hadn’t been chewed off, caught on something or ripped off. It was removed by a human, presumably to steal him.Knox was living with these people so he could be off leash trained meaning that he’d be the kind of dog that didn’t need a leash to not run off. Weird because y’all know that good boi couldn’t even waddle down the street without huffing and puffing like the Big Bad Wolf, but that’s besides the point. These people were trusted with this dog’s care for weeks and they stole his ass.  I’m not even saying they allegedly stole him because she lied. She lied and then pinned this on her husband who has animal cruelty charges racked against him. I don’t even want to think about what happened to this poor animal, but I have to because it’s my job. Here’s her first account of what had happened that night:

So, now that we all know this bullshittery to be a lie…where are the charges being filed? Where are the arrests? She lied to police about the matter, that right in itself is a charge. The fact that she threw her husband right under the bus is a dead give away that she’s guilty as fuck. Look at this fat little cutie pie:

The fact that she “lost” him should be a punishable offense! Them big ol’ jowls pull of slobber will probably never smooch his loving family again, and this bitch just walks? Whuzzupwitdat? This photo from Mrs. Mayo just breaks my damn heart:

That is one adorably happy family with their adorably chubby puppers. Off Leash K9 Training-Providence has some explaining to do as well. How did they keep this woman employed while facing charges for running an illegal dog kennel and being married to an animal abuser? I’m guessing they would know about something like that. Uncle Turtle and I text about every day and that motherfucker knows if I so much as get a parking ticket, that shit comes up in conversation. There is no way they didn’t know about the crazy shit happening in this chick’s life, it would have made the papers for fuck’s sake! Of course the blame lies squarely on this trainer’s head. It really seems like a set up to steal the dog. I mean, look:

“At the conclusion of the training period, Knox was returned home, without the pre-paid equipment or training outline that had been promised so that the Mayo family could continue and reinforce Knox’ training.

Police were called and responded Knox was not located.”

It seems like she set it up so that Knox would have to be in her care. When the family tried getting the dog back there were delays. And finally…the dog was gone. Everything about this is shady and everything about this screams conspiracy to commit doggy stealing.

Turtle riders, don’t let this one go. This has nothing to do with a famous family, it has everything to do with a poor pup who is now gone. Spread this around, don’t let the inquiry die, don’t let people forget about this chick and her husband who took this dog. Everybody wants answers, and I bet that she did this before with other animals. I want this chick’s name. More importantly, I want this family to have closure, if not their fur baby returned.  Pass this around until we get answers. It’s been too damn long not to know anything. And there is that reward if you’re into that.

The law in Massachusetts is a pet is property. You can sue for the value of the lost property and the cost associated with the lost property…Like if someone stole a Tv or car. People always say “I’m suing” with respect to pets without realizing that if it’s a $150 pet you can sue for $150…

I’m slightly confused. Is this the same story as someone broke into my house and the dog was found dead in the street?

Living in the basement with 5 dogs?

Must smell like the monkey house at the Forest Park Zoo in Springfield.

That line was from one of Robert B. Parker’s “Spenser for Hire” novels. If you had ever visited the monkey house back in the day, you know what I’m talking about.
