Washington Post: A woman in Iowa was arrested this week on suspicion of voting twice in the general election, court and police records show. Terri Lynn Rote, a 55-year-old Des Moines resident, was booked Thursday on a first-degree charge of election misconduct, according to Polk County Jail records. The charge is considered a Class D felony under Iowa state law. Rote was released Friday after posting $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 7.
The Des Moines Register reported that Rote is a registered Republican who cast two ballots in the general election: an early-voting ballot at the Polk County Election Office and another at a county satellite voting location, according to police records. Rote hadn’t planned on voting twice but said it was “a spur-of-the-moment thing” when she walked by the satellite voting location, she told The Washington Post in a phone interview Saturday.
“I don’t know what came over me,” Rote said.
She added she has been a supporter of Donald Trump since early in his campaign, after Republican candidate Mike Huckabee dropped out of the primary race. Rote told Iowa Public Radio that she cast her first ballot for Trump but feared it would be changed to a vote for Hillary Clinton.
“The polls are rigged,” Rote told the radio station.
Leigh Munsil, an editor for the Blaze, noted on Twitter that Rote was the same woman who had caucused for Trump earlier this year. Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald told the Register that it was the first time in 12 years he could remember having to report possible voter fraud.
“I think it shows that our voting system works in Iowa, that we’re able to catch it,” Fitzgerald told the paper, adding that the reported instances could have been honest mistakes but “that’s not for me to decide.”

Voter fraud – you’re doing it wrong. If you wanna know how to vote multiple times then just read how we do it three times every election:
Voting 3 Times Every Election Is So Easy Because Voter ID Laws Are Racist
It’s really simple, and we’ll continue to do it so long as the idiots running this country don’t enact common sense voter ID laws. I started voting three times every election since ought eight. I remember showing up to the polls, giving my name, and finding out that someone else had already voted using my name. I could’ve made a big deal out of it, but since it was 7:30, the polls were closing soon, and I just didn’t wanna deal with it, I just picked another name. After all, there’s a gigantic book of names directly in front of you when you go to get your ballot. Just pick one. Anyone will do, so long as the 90 year old lady running the show hasn’t crossed out the name with a red color pencil.
It was no harm, no foul. The guy whose name I picked obviously didn’t care enough to show up to vote, so I might as well vote for him. Who voted using my name? No clue. Doesn’t matter. All I know is at that moment I realized that democracy is a joke. It shouldn’t be easier to for an underage kid to vote than it is for them to sneak into a bar, but here we are. We obviously do not take elections seriously, so why should I, and why should this lady?
Bu that’s where she fucked up. If you’re gonna commit voter fraud then don’t try to use your name twice. That’s like, begging to get caught. Voter fraud 101. As a matter of fact, it’s the only way to get caught. Since asking for ID is illegal there is literally no way you can be caught. That’s why I laugh every time I hear the “no ID” crowd say that voter fraud doesn’t exist. Ummmm, hello? No one is getting caught because it’s almost impossible to get caught.
Loved this part:
“I think it shows that our voting system works in Iowa, that we’re able to catch it.”
No moron, you caught one person. A dumb person at that. A Trumpette. Saying that this proves your system works is like saying that crime has ended if police stop policing high crime areas. You’re not gonna catch people if you’ve created a system that basically lets them commit crimes.
Hate to sound like a Trumpette, but he is right about one thing – the system is rigged. You need only look at the fact that Hillary Clinton had to have debate questions handed to her ahead of time by Donna Brazile in order to beat a 76 year old socialist from Vermont. The fact that she was offered those questions, took them, and then didn’t think she’d get caught tells you everything you need to know about what she is capable of in order to win. The fact that early voting is a thing, and some states let you change your vote and others don’t. The fact that millions have already voted for Hillary right before the latest email scandal was revealed. Watergate was like, the biggest deal ever. It involved some guys breaking into a building and stealing some paperwork in an election in which Nixon won 49 out of 50 states. This one is actually supposed to be closer and we’ve got all this shit going on. The only difference this time around is that the media actually likes Hillary Clinton, so if she wins she won’t go down in history as Tricky Dick part 2. But she is.

This woman gets arrested for voting twice but authorities couldn’t manage to arrest one member of the New Black Panther Party for menacing & threatening white voters during the last presidential election?
It’s not an open book in front of octogenarians anymore. It’s an iPad with the back facing you. You provide your address, name and birthday. I agree, it was easy to get away with in the past, but I don’t see it happening this year. Feel free to disagree.
Whites should be allowed to vote as many times as they want.
Blacks should not be allowed to vote. At all. Period.
Laverne, you look like hell !
I’d hit that…
Marriage material
If this poor white woman was a minority and had voted for Hillary she would be given a medal. Instead she’s a criminal because she chose to vote for Trump. Amazing times ….
Maybe she’s a criminal because she voted twice, which is fraud? Or, y’know, because she’s white. Interchangeable.
Remember kids, vote early and vote often!
I got two-for- one Lucky Charms at Price Chopper!!
It also applied to a healthier option for cereal but…..how much fiber does a person really want in the cabinet?
I am ready to read more!!
It’s all entertainment folks!! 🙂
Put some of that fiber powder in the milk and mix that shit up! Best of both worlds…
See your done moving to your fake office
In emerging democracies they have the voters dip their fingers in an ink well once they vote. Makes sense except for absentee ballots, mail in ballots (Oregon, over seas from ex-pats)
Requiring an I.D. to vote is not racist nor does it suppress the vote. You cannot board a plane, cash a check or apply for a loan with out one.
This is the most remarkable election ever! Voter fraud all over the place and corruption so bad the Intelligence community is exploding.
I hope we make it to November 8… Load up.
Oh you’ll make it. Rest assured.
Voter fraud all over the place? Again with the false narratives!
Liberals believe ID laws are racist Apparently they think minorities are either too lazy or too stupid to be able to obtain an ID
You see what happens when a false narrative is devoured by the masses? Still think that pushing conjecture and innuendo is harmless?
