A few months ago we blogged about this incident in which a guy loses his mind inside the Pennywise in Main South, ends up getting tased when the cops get there, and dies shortly after. The hippie outrage of this necessary take down was predictable:
Blah, blah, blah. Shutup Dick Poole.
The guy who ended up dying was a local regular named Delgado Soba. When the reports first came out that this happened the family blamed the police. Now that the tape has come out on Youtube, it’s pretty clear that the police officers did exactly what every normal person knew they did – their job:
So like, what were they supposed to do there? Dude was out of control and crazy. He came at the cops several times and was destroying the store. Oh yea, and he somehow managed to have no pants on halfway through the video:
He would not comply. Instead of beating the shit out of them, which we KNOW people hate to see, they tased him and he died. Play dumb games, win dumb prizes.
But make no doubt about it – he did not die because he got tased. He died because his body was filled with poisonous drugs and he had preexisting conditions. Naturally though everyone on the Internet is an expert in police takedown procedures:
But the bottom line is there were no other options. The guy was trashing someone else’s property, so they did what any normal person would do – call the cops. The cops got there and tried to deescalate the situation and it clearly wasn’t happening. The guy kept coming at them so they subdued him using a taser. They got him down on the ground and cuffed him before putting him in the gurney.
He ended up dying, which has nothing to do with the police and everything to do with a dangerous and unhealthy lifestyle. So the lesson to be learned here is basically, drugs are bad. End of story.
