Corrupt Lancaster Planning Board Member Using Power To Harass Festival Organizers Because Turtleboy Said Nice Things About Them
Want to advertise with Turtleboy? Email us at [email protected] for more information.
This is Russell Williston, a member of the Lancaster Planning Board:
He is participating the boycott of Turtleboy advertisers:
But it wasn’t enough for him to harass our advertisers with a meaningless petition that ultimately will go nowhere. Instead he saw that we wrote a blog about an upcoming food truck festival at Kalon Farm in Lancaster, and decided to use the small amount of power he is clinging to in order to harass them into…….us not writing nice things about them? Here’s his email:
I’ve only recently become aware of the event you’d like to hold in Lancaster next month, which sounds interesting. I am writing because I was contacted by someone who was concerned that your event is advertising on a local racism/hate blog called “Turtleboy Sports.” I tried to confirm this myself and did see that you’ve linked to that blog from a Facebook page, and I saw that the Turtleboy blog wrote an article about your event. Is it correct that your event is a sponsor of the Turtleboy blog? If so, I’d like to know more about why you’ve picked that demographic in particular and how it ties into your event. I’d like to apologize in advance if this is a misunderstanding.
The nerve of this guy. Notice how he wrote “event you’d like to hold.” As in, “I’m willing to use my powers on the planning board to keep you out if you don’t answer my questions.”
Then of course he calls Turtleboy a “local racism/hate blog,” which of course is libelous because Turtleboy has never, ever promoted racism. Ever. These people think they can get away with just throwing that word around at everything they don’t like, but it actually has a definition:
“prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior.”
If someone could point me to the blog in which Turtleboy expresses the belief that his or her race is superior to other races (which might be confusing since we’ve employed several BOC (bloggers of color)), then we’ll gladly take the blog down forever. Of course such a blog doesn’t really exist, but nonetheless elected officials like Russ Williston think they can get away with making up lies like this.
Ironically Russ Williston was a member of the Bentley College Republicans:
The political party that frequently is wrongly accused of being racist by the likes of Elizabeth Warren and company.
Of course the most hilarious part about his email is the fact that he thinks he has ANY RIGHT to ask these people if they are a sponsor of the blog, and WHY they picked this “demographic” in particular to advertise to. Imagine being so full of yourself that you believe that private individuals owe you an explanation about how they spend their advertising budgets?
Imagine thinking that you’re so much better than someone else that you have a right to ask them why they’re advertising towards a certain “demographic?” You all see what he did there right? He’s calling you all white trash. Why would anyone want to be see by your “demographic?” You’re all garbage human beings, and he just can’t understand why any legitimate business would want your business.
For the record, we never listed them as an advertisers. Maybe they are, maybe they’re not. It’s actually no one’s business, especially Russ Williston. We choose to promote local businesses and companies for free all the time if we go to a place and have a meal we like. Countless pizza shops, local service businesses, great restaurants and countless others have been featured on our page and in our blogs. Like Pure Juz:
We love them. This guy is going after Clustertruck simply because we had nice things to say about them too. And we consider any support for them to be support for the blog since we LOVE truck festivals like this.
Anyway, since this guy thinks it is appropriate to harass people who may or may not be conducting private business in his town, let’s talk about where he works:
Senior Systems, Inc in Marlboro. Here’s their Facebook page:
Since he apparently sees nothing wrong with harassing people at their work, which has nothing to do with them, then he would probably see nothing wrong with large groups of people calling his work and letting them know what a corrupt, bullying liar he is.
The funniest part about this is that this guy is an elected official in Lancaster of all places. Look, I like Lancaster. It’s easy to get to, quite lovely, and in a great school district. But the fact of the matter is that their corrupt board of selectmen recently rehired a town manager who they fired a couple years ago after he was arrested after being found in this condition:
Drunk, covered in puke, with pants down while on the way home from a strip club. This guy runs the town of Lancaster, but apparently the biggest thing that they have to worry about is a food truck festival that Turtleboy wrote nice things about. Of course it’s not surprising that the Board of Selectmen would rehire a guy they fired three years ago for being a lush, since this guy is also on the BOS in Lancaster:
And Mark Grasso also has a legal history with driving under the influence of drugs:
“Lancaster Selectman Mark A. Grasso Jr. was arraigned in District Court on Monday on charges that he drove the wrong way up a one-way street in Sterling while under the influence of drugs Friday and causing a minor crash with another vehicle. Grasso, 28, of 64 Chace Hill Road, was arrested by Sterling police about 10 p.m., after the minor crash on Chocksett Road. No one was injured in the crash, according to the police report. Grasso is charged with operating under the influence of drugs, driving without a license, marked-lanes violations, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and driving the wrong way on a state highway.”
But yea, Lancaster’s biggest issue right now is a blog and a delicious food truck festival.
The bottom line is we will promote ANY company, business, or private individual we choose to. Whether or not they are paying us is no one’s business but our own. For all you know we could owe someone a favor or just be in a good mood. We reached out to Russ Williston for comment but he immediately deactivated his social media. He knew poking the turtle was a bad idea, but he did it anyway. And for that he has to deal with the aftermath.
We urge you to support the following local businesses.
