Earlier today we published this blog about a Worcester man named Joshua Hubert, who was arrested for kidnapping a 7 year old daughter of one of his friends from a family party at 2:30 AM, before strangling her and throwing her off the 290 bridge over Lake Quinsig:
Somehow this badass girl not only survived the 45 foot drop, she then swam to shore. Most insane thing I’ve ever heard.
The more I think about it, the more I ask myself, “did this really fucking happen?” This is the story the child told the cops. Kids do have wild imaginations. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure something nefarious happened here and the guy who did it is a piece of shit. But this is like some Jesus walking on water shit. Unless this kid is Bruce Willis from Unbreakable or Batman, I just can’t comprehend how this happened.
Anyway, we couldn’t find Joshua Hubert on Facebook, so we Googled his listed address of 3 Bernice Street in Worcester:
It’s inhabited by Melissa Bogar who does have a Facebook, and she has several pictures of herself with a man on Facebook who goes by “Joshua James”:
Then on Joshua James’ Facebook page you see some more pictures of him
And the only posts we can see, which are all supportive of the police, and in particular Ron Tarentino, the Auburn cop who was assassinated in May of 2016.
Any rational person would come to the conclusion that Joshua James is clearly Joshua Hubert. Joshua James looks like he’s 35 and is dating the woman who lives at his listed address. There’s also pictures of him and his son, who Dianne Williamson wrote about in 2009.
But in case you wanted more confirmation, check out this article from the Holden Landmark in 2007:
Sterling Police Department dispatcher Joshua Hubert was recently commended by the acting commissioner of the Shirley MCI prison, James R. Bender, for his participation in the apprehension of an inmate trying to escape. A call detailing the escape plan was mistakenly made to the Sterling PD. Hubert relayed the information to the Shirley Police Department, which was able to apprehend the prisoner as he was escaping, according to Sterling Police Chief Gary Chamberland. Hubert has been a full-time dispatcher with the Sterling PD only three months, having been a dispatcher in Holden previously. He still works in Holden occasionally.
Of course the real irony here is that he may soon be a guest at MCI Shirley.
According to him 10 years ago he also wanted to be a cop:
Hubert said he enjoys the camaraderie in the Sterling PD, and hopes to one day become an officer in the department.
Yea, doesn’t look like that’s gonna be happening any time soon.
This story is bonkers. I’m sure so much more will come out. And to be honest, I can’t imagine a scenario in which this could possibly happen to my children. Sounds like ratchet parenting. Just sayin. How do you let someone kidnap your kid like that? Why is your 7 year old at a party at 2:30 AM? Why did Joshua Hubert, a seemingly law abiding supporter of the police, snap like this? Does the 7 year old possess supernatural powers to survive a fall like that and swim to safety after being awoken, kidnapped, and strangled?
