SJWs Going After The Taunton Police Because Of Their Hilarious Facebook Post About The Drunk Chick With A Lizard In Her Bra

Back in April we wrote this blog about the Taunton Police Department’s hilarious Facebook post about
One of the most hilarious arrest reports you’ll ever see. We all had a good laugh at the expense of these ratchets. And since they clearly give zero fucks about anything it’s OK to humiliate them like this. After all, they have nothing to lose and probably didn’t even mind it. Plus, it’s all public record so it’s more than fair game for the police to share stories like this.
But of course the butthurt patrol is upset about it:
A driver mows down six mailboxes, slurs her words and tells police she has a lizard in her bra. Throw in a wisecracking police officer, and what do you get? A flippant post on Facebook, along with photos of the woman, and of course, her lizard. Not everyone is amused. Police departments are increasingly using Facebook to inform the community about what they’re doing and who they’re arresting. Some add a little humor to the mix.
But civil rights advocates say posting mugshots and written, pejorative descriptions of suspects amounts to public shaming of people who have not yet been convicted.
“It makes them the butt of a joke on what for many people is probably their worst day,” said Arisha Hatch, campaign director of Color of Change, a civil rights advocacy organization that recently got Philadelphia police to stop posting mugshots on its Special Operations Facebook page.
“The impact of having a mugshot posted on social media for all to see can be incredibly damaging for folks that are parents, for folks that have jobs, for folks that have lives they have to come back to,” she said.
Many commenters praised police. “Great job (getting drunks off the road and entertaining us),” one woman wrote.
But others said the tone was inappropriate.
“Hey Taunton Police Department … Your holier than thou attitude is part of the reason why people don’t like/don’t respect police,” one man wrote.
Rebello-McCarthy, who has pleaded not guilty to drunken driving and other charges, did not respond to attempts for comment. Police have traditionally made mugshots and details on suspects available to journalists for publication. But journalists, for the most part, selectively choose to write stories and use mugshots based on the severity or unusual nature of the crime. Many crimes don’t get any coverage.
Hey, here’s an idea – if you don’t wanna be publicly humiliated by your local police department, don’t break the law. And if you do break the law, make sure you’re doing something boring and not amusing.
Just another example of the butthurt patrol trying to police humor and protect shitbags. It’s all they know how to do. They see other people enjoying themselves having fun, and ridiculing someone who absolutely deserves ridicule, and instead of laughing and enjoying like the rest of us they choose to make a federal case out of this.
I mean, come on. The chick had a freaking lizard in her bra. The dude was standing next to leaking gasoline ripping a cigarette. They were drunk at 1 PM and trying to move a car with four flat tires and the airbags inflated. If you don’t see the humor in that then you’ve never, ever been invited to a party your entire life.
I love how Masslive tried reaching out to the broad who hit six mailboxes at one in the afternoon. Like she’s gonna talk. Chick is 39 years old, married, and drunk with a 22 year old dude with a gun crashing into shit. I’m sure she’s got a quote for ya.
The bottom line is, shaming is now and always has been an effective deterrent for shitty behavior. People can deal with a small charge and paying some court fees. But they can’t deal with Internet shame. Because the Internet is forever. So if it keeps just one person from doing something like this, then the cops should keep doing it. But of course the anti-police SJWs will try to fight that tooth and nail. But we are winning and they are losing.
